Information on Problem-solving,
Multimedia encyclopaedia and Electronic books:
Problem-solving:
Problem-
solving is a general category for teaching problem-solving strategies and
sometimes associated with the cognitivist learning theory (students are explicitly taught specific cognitive strategies).
It
is designed to promote students higher-order thinking skills such as logic,
reasoning, pattern recognition and strategies.
Computer
presents fairly complex problems helping students to learn and improve their
problem-solving skills. Problem –solving software is similar to simulation
software because they often need to manipulate variables.
Multimedia encyclopaedia:
Multimedia
refers to computer programs and products which involve sound, pictures, films as
well as texts.
Encyclopaedia
is a book or set of books in which facts about many different subjects or about
one particular subject is arranged for reference, usually in alphabetical
order.
When
we club this two words together “multimedia encyclopaedia” we get a beautiful
meaning that, it’s a huge database with full text, still images, animation,
audio and video.
It’s
basically used to access any desired information and even download relevant
data.
Electronic books:
Electronic
book is as same as an e-book. It presents textual information for reading and
moreover it is supplements multimedia information like sounds, spoken voices,
pictures and animations.
One
good thing about electronic book is that it can be used by the students as a
tutor to learn reading, spelling and word skills. Above all while reading the
information, students may click on hypertext links to jump to material which
has been cross-referenced in the text. It provides a fun learning environment
and arouses curiosity in students to explore on their own.
